Embroidered Decoupage-Iowa City
Everyone enjoyed the Jenny Haskins educator that was here in May, so thought you would all like to try out some of the techniques she showed us. We tried some Faux Knitting in Floriani Club in June (Rock Island will be doing this in August) and in July we will be doing some Embroidered Decoupage! Following is the class schedule:
Shields Sewing Center, Iowa City
-"Embroidered Decoupage" on Wednesday July 28, 2010 from 1pm-3pm
Embroidered Decoupage! Learn this easy, unique technique using your embroidery machine and a heat cutting tool. We will create 2 designs in the embroidery machine and then learn the basics of using a heat cutting tool to make them into decoupage pieces. You will need to bring your sewing/embroidery machine with a 4"X 4" embroidery hoop, a basic sewing kit including sharp embroidery scissors, a Jenny Haskins Magic Heat Cutting Tool (available at Shields Sewing for $25.00), and embroidery bobbin thread or pre-wound bobbins. You will need the following embroidery threads (Floriani colors given) #1083 Begonia, #105 Laurel Pink, #532 Sunrise, #745 Harvest Brown, #285 Parsley, #485 Gray, #229 Lime, #277 Green Meadow, and your favorite butterfly color. Also bring a memory stick or Brother rewritable card for design transfer. Cost for this class is $20 which includes the class fee, 2 designs, the stabilizer, and organza.
