I hope everyone had a great summer! I know we did here, but it just went too fast. I wanted to write a little letter to let you all know of the happenings going on here at Shields Sewing Center. First of all, I want to thank everyone that attended our Walter Floriani workshop. We had an amazing turnout and Walter was very impressed with all of you for making the time to attend.  It's always nice to get that kind of compliment from someone like Walt. Jan and Judy have recently started their "Starting Over" quilt. Again, the response has been amazing and very much appreciated. Jan and Judy will be releasing the pattern for sale in approximately 10 months. So now that fall is upon us, colder weather, football games and good comfort food, it's also time to get back into the sewing mode.

The first event for the fall will be an Anita Goodesign Trunk show, that means that Anita Goodesign will be sending different samples for us to display for 2 weeks. Also during this event we will have special pricing on designs as well as the Diamond Club and Platinum Club. Finally I would like to let all of you know about our 1st ever "Tailgate Party".  That's right, just like every other Iowa football game we will be having our own tailgate party. This will be taking place on Saturday October 29, 2011.  The Hawkeyes will be playing in Minnesota that day. For those of you that don't want to make the drive or freeze your tail, then come join us! I will be making some of my favorite tailgate snacks, we will have the game on the tube (assuming it will be a day game), drinks, and big savings! We will also be hosting a balloon sale that day. Pop a balloon at the time of checkout and receive great savings inside the balloon.  I know this event is a little ways away.  I just wanted to give you enough time to plan on attending this party with the whole family!
